the harbor and the horizon

Faith is not found in the safety of the harbor; it is found when we step out toward the horizon.

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." - Hebrews 6:19

LAUNCHING INTO GOD'S FUTURE

Ships are safe in the harbor. But that is not what ships are built for.

For 65 years, Pathway Church has been a fortress of grace. We have built a hull that can withstand storms. We have rescued the drowning.

In the last decade alone there have been:

  • 8,466 souls saved.
  • 1,003 lives marked by baptism.
  • 2,503 people drawn to Jesus in the last year alone.

The ship is strong. The crew is ready. The wind of the Spirit is blowing.

A Faithful Pattern. A living proof. A Compelling promise.

The Pattern: From the Beginning Voyage God Has Been Faithful

For over 65 years God has blessed Neighborhood/Pathway Church. Especially in the last decade, God has shown a clear pattern of grace at Pathway. Through the faithful preaching of the gospel, in the last decade 8,466 people have come to saving faith in Jesus, and 1,003 have followed Him in baptism — visible proof that lives are being made new.

The Proof (Right Now): God Is Moving Today

This isn’t only past tense. In the last year, 2,503 people have been saved, and in the last two years, 442 have been baptized. God is still drawing hearts and building His Church.

WHAT IS THIS CAMPAIGN ABOUT?

This campaign is not simply about paying a bill. It is about weighing the anchor.

By eliminating this financial tether, we move from being a church docked by obligation to a church sailing on opportunity. Every dollar currently tied up in interest payments will be released to catch the wind of the Spirit — powering evangelism, fueling discipleship, and allowing us to navigate new waters of ministry.

We are clearing the deck so Pathway can respond to God’s call with agility, speed, and freedom.

We invite every Partner and regular attender of Pathway Church to prayerfully consider their station in this historic campaign. This isn't about equal giving - it's about equal sacrifice. Whether your contribution is a small tug or a mighty gust, God will use your faithfulness to propel His work forward.

The Biblical Heading

Scripture calls us to be wise stewards who look beyond the immediate shoreline. Proverbs 13:22 reminds us, “A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children.”

Just as the Apostle Paul launched missionary journeys to take the gospel to new horizons, we are called to push past the status quo.

This campaign is our opportunity to leave a spiritual and financial inheritance — a debt-free vessel — that will bless Pathway Church for decades. We believe that through sacrificial giving and a unified crew, God will launch us into a new era of effectiveness.

Unfurling the Sails: Our Transcendent Purpose

A debt-free church is a church with its sails fully unfurled. When we cut the line of debt, we immediately redirect significant monthly resources toward the horizon — the mission field. We move from maintenance to mission:

  • Extending Our Reach. Through reaching and equipping parents and families, and helping them bring hope, truth, and stability into their homes and communities.
  • Refitting the Ship. Upgrading technology and worship environments to ensure the gospel is heard clearly and accessible to all.
  • Supplying the Fleet. Strengthen our witness by supporting partners who are actively reaching the next generation locally and globally.
  • Storm Readiness. Building reserves that allow us to minister generously even when unexpected squalls hit our community.
  • Opening New Trade Routes. Reaching professionals where they work and lead, creating pathways for faith to enter every sphere of influence

WHAT IS HINDERING OUR VOYAGE?

Currently, our ministry is tethered by a $2.6 million mortgage. While our facilities are a blessing, the debt attached to them acts like a heavy anchor dragging on the seabed. It holds us back from full speed; it limits our maneuverability; it restricts how far and how fast we can go to share the Gospel.

Why Now?

Because on September 1st our interest rate doubles, sending far more of our $2.6 million mortgage to a bank instead of ministry.

By retiring the mortgage now, while we have momentum, we are:

  • Securing the Hull: Creating financial stability that keeps the ministry buoyant regardless of economic storms.
  • Lightening the Load: Removing the pressure of debt service from the shoulders of future congregations.
  • Charting a Bold Course: Positioning the church to move instantly when God opens a new door, rather than waiting for the bank’s permission.

This is an act of love for the crew that comes after us. We are choosing to pay the price now so they can sail further than we ever dreamed.

A NOTE FROM PASTOR BILL

We are Ambassadors of Christ!

That’s amazing! What a privilege! What an exalted rank!

I’m praying for men and women with passion and fire, because we are charting a course for the Horizon, and we have some massive ideas.

I’m afraid if you’re worn out, half-hearted, or content to just drift, you won’t be able to handle the voyage.

We need more prayer warriors to man the sails. We need more generous givers to fuel the journey. We need workers, teachers, students—young and old—who feel called to the greatest story ever told. We need those few who are willing to leave the safety of the shore and launch into the deep.

I pray Pathway blazes forth as a Harbor of truth—a beacon of the gospel, a training center for the depths of the Word of God, and a launchpad for evangelists and missionaries.

The time is short. The storm is rising. The darkness is settling across this land. The devil is seducing souls like never before.

Heaven is real. Hell is real. It’s that simple.

People are drowning. They need the Lord, and the stakes could not be higher.

The adventure awaits.

Welcome aboard.

Bill

What we ask of you:

  1. PRAY: "Lord, what do You want me to do through me/our family in this season?"
  2. CHECK YOUR COMPASS: Ask God, "What is my part in freeing this ship?"
  3. COUNT THE COST: This will require sacrifice. Great victories always do.
  4. SET YOUR COURSE: Make a pledge that scares you a little, and excites you a lot.

The harbor is safe, but the horizon is where the glory is.

Let’s cut the line. Let’s sail.
